A Message from your Library Board

A message from your library board:
Greetings from your library. We hope that this note finds you and your family well. Our staff has worked hard over the last months to provide you with information and opportunities as to how you can spend some of your extra time. We know that many of you are home. Some may be working from home (as is our library staff). Others may be homeschooling (something we are sure many of you never thought you would have to do). Some may just be sheltering at home and just not getting out to see family and friends. Many are dealing with a combination of the above.
It is a trying time for many of us and we hope the library can offer you a respite. So please, check our website homepage often, you will find new posts daily. Check out an e-book through Overdrive (more information on our website). Look at our Facebook page, Dan and Karen are always posting new things. If you are lucky you will find Dan visiting with you from the front lawn. Coming soon, On the Lawn with Dan, will feature a library staff person answering some fun questions. The library Instagram may also have a tip.
It is our intention to open the library as soon as it is safe for everyone. So we will rely on the President and the Governor’s mandates. When we re-open it will be on a limited basis. Our best estimate at this time is June 1st, for curbside pick-up only. Returns will be made at our drive-thru book box in the parking lot. Lending will be restricted to our own collection until delivery of materials is once again up and running. We are in the process of gathering enough PPE for staff to perform this service. We will let you know next steps when those decisions are made. We know we are all going to need to be flexible, all of us.
We will keep you informed the best we are able. Please know our staff will be ready to assist you when we return.
One thing you can all do while you are at home is complete the 2020 Census. If you have not already done so, you may go to 2020census.gov, mail in the form you may receive in the mail or call 1-844-330-2020. You matter, as does each and every person who resided in your home on April 1, 2020. To date 66.8% of Lansing has been counted!
Stay well and visit us remotely if you are able, we are here for you.
Tim Glinski Board President, Sharon Novak Vice President, Bonnie Cuthbert Treasurer, Judith Koch, Secretary, Jeri Villa, Mozella Brown and Lillian Ball Board Members and Debbie Albrecht Director and the entire staff
